Ship Portraits

In this exhibition, the Maritime Museum of Barcelona showcases, with a selection of 109 pieces from its collections, how ship portraits have evolved through technological advancements and social changes. The portraits have adapted to the image representation tools of each era, the reasons for commissioning portraits and the type of person making the commission have changed, as well as the profiles of the authors and the way they are disseminated.
